Supplier of Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 to East Asia and Africa
Bitumen Emulsion is made up of three basic ingredients which include Bitumen, an emulsifying agent, and water. It is a well-known fact that asphalt and water will not mix, except under carefully controlled conditions using highly specialized equipment and chemical additives. this product can be exported to various regions in East Asia, such as China, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, and Cambodia. Additionally, it can also be exported to certain African countries, including Congo, Djibouti, and Rwanda.
Description of Bitumen Emulsion K1-70
Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 is a cationic rapid setting bitumen emulsion that contains 67% bitumen. It is a medium viscosity emulsion used mainly for tack coating in normal overlay and patching work. Bitumen emulsion K1-700 is chocolate brown in color and is a free-flowing liquid at ambient temperature and is commonly used for Tack-Coating as well. Asphalt Emulsion K1-70 cationic bitumen emulsion is made according to BS EN 13808:2013 standard and Malaysian Standard, MS 1.61 (1994).
Cationic Emulsions that have positively charged ions may be used at ambient temperatures with aggregates, which do not have to be completely dry. Emulsions are less hazardous to use and can be applied in a wider range of conditions and used for many applications including road surfacing.
Asphalt emulsions are classified according to the electric charge that surrounds the emulsion’s asphalt particles (i.e. whether it is a cationic or an anionic emulsion) and how quickly the suspended asphalt particles separate from the surrounding water (“breaking”).
Process of Emulsion K1-70
- Preparation: Bitumen is heated to a suitable temperature to reduce its viscosity. Water and an emulsifying agent are prepared separately.
- Mixing: The heated bitumen is mixed with the water and emulsifying agent in a high-shear mixer. This process breaks down the bitumen into tiny droplets, which are then suspended in the water.
- Homogenization: The mixture is homogenized to ensure a uniform distribution of bitumen droplets in the water.
- Cooling: The emulsion is cooled to stabilize it.
- Quality Control: The final product undergoes quality control tests to ensure it meets the specified standards for bitumen content, viscosity, and other properties.
Properties of Emulsion K1-70
Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 has several properties that make it ideal for various applications. Some of these properties include:
- Adhesion: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K1.70 has excellent adhesion properties, which make it ideal for use in road construction and maintenance applications.
- Durability: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 has high durability, which ensures that the surface remains intact and functional for a long time.
- Flexibility: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 remains flexible even at low temperatures, which makes it ideal for use in cold weather conditions.
- Water resistance: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 is water-resistant, which makes it ideal for use in waterproofing applications.
- Chemical resistance: Cationic Bitumen Emulsion K1-70 is resistant to various chemicals, which makes it ideal for use in harsh environments.
Application of Emulsion K1-70
- Tack Coat: This is the most common use. It creates a sticky layer between the existing road surface and the new asphalt overlay to ensure proper adhesion.
- Surface Dressing: It binds aggregates to the road surface, providing a durable and waterproof layer.
- Patching: Used to repair potholes and other road defects.
- Fog Sealing: Protects asphalt surfaces from water damage and oxidation.
- Concrete Curing: Helps maintain moisture in concrete during curing for optimal strength.
- Grouting: Fills cracks and voids in concrete or asphalt.
- Base Stabilization: Can be used to stabilize base layers for improved load-bearing capacity.
- Dust Control: Effective in controlling dust on unpaved roads.
Advantages of Emulsion K1-70
- Environmentally friendly: Compared to traditional bitumen products, it is less harmful to the environment.
- Cost-effective: Provides long-lasting results at a competitive price.
- No heating required: Unlike traditional bitumen, it can be applied cold, saving energy and reducing costs.
- Rapid setting: Cures quickly, allowing for faster project completion.
- High adhesion: Provides excellent bonding properties for durable results.
- Versatile: Can be used in various weather conditions and for multiple applications.
- Easy application: Can be applied uniformly through spraying.
- Low-temperature curing: Remains flexible even in cold weather.
- Prevents slippage: Reduces the risk of structural layer slippage.
