Supplier of Bitumen 20/30 Grade to All China Ports
Intro
Bitumen 20/30 has exceptional adhesive properties, which enable it to form a strong bond with aggregates used in asphalt concrete mixtures. This strong binding capability not only enhances the structural integrity of paved surfaces but also extends their lifespan by preventing the disintegration of materials under repeated loading and thermal variations. Additionally, Bitumen 20/30 exhibits excellent resistance to water and chemical attacks, which is crucial in preventing the deterioration of pavements due to environmental factors. These properties make it an indispensable component in the construction of durable and long-lasting road infrastructures. We will explain more about adhesive properties, also for The capability of Bitumen 20/30.
Description of Bitumen 20/30
Bitumen 20/30 delivered by is produced in compliance with EN 12591 Standards. Bitumen 20/30 is commonly used for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties and for the construction and maintenance of roads.
It is also commonly used to manufacture asphalt mixes, bitumen emulsion, cut-back bitumen, and modified bitumen.
Bitumen 20/30 has the highest boiling point, heaviest, and most polar fraction from the vacuum distillation of crude oil. This grade of bitumen has very strong viscosity and plasticity compare to other grades which make it a great product in road paving sector for the realization of asphalt mixtures for roadways, runways, pavement, track races, and landing platforms.
All Grades of Bitumen Exported are of petroleum grade, produced from fractional distillation of crude oil and vacuum residue (short residue) feedstock.
The penetration grade bitumen has a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower temperatures.
This unique temperature viscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the rheology, adhesion,
durability and application temperatures of bitumen.
Properies of Penetration Bitumen 20/30
The quality of penetration bitumen 20-30 can vary depending on several factors, such as the source of the crude oil used to produce it, the refining process, and the testing and specifications used to measure its properties. In general, however, some of the key quality characteristics of penetration bitumen 20-30 include:
- Penetration: Penetration bitumen 20-30 has a penetration value between 20 and 30 dmm at 25°C, as measured according to ASTM D5. This property measures the consistency and softness of the bitumen, with higher penetration indicating softer bitumen.
- Softening Point: The softening point of bitumen 20-30 typically falls within the range of 46-52°C, as measured according to ASTM D36. This property measures the temperature at which the bitumen becomes soft and begins to flow.
- Ductility: Bitumen 20-30 has a ductility value of at least 100 cm at 25°C, as measured according to ASTM D113. This property measures the bitumen’s ability to stretch without breaking and is an indication of its flexibility and resistance to cracking.
- Solubility: Bitumen 20-30 is typically 99.5% soluble in carbon disulfide, as measured according to ASTM D4. This property indicates the purity of the bitumen and its resistance to contamination.
- Flash Point: The flash point of bitumen 20-30 is typically at least 225°C, as measured according to ASTM D92. This property indicates the temperature at which the bitumen can ignite when exposed to a flame.
- Other properties: Other quality properties of bitumen 20/30 may include specific gravity, water content, loss on heating, and other physical and chemical characteristics.
Softening point and penetration of Bitumen 20/30
Penetration bITUMENgrade 20/30 supplied pure petroleum-grade Asphalt, manufactured from a vacuum bottom by passing hot air. bitumen from the remains of crude oil after cracking and removing hydrocarbon. Penetration between 20~30 desi-millimeters and softening point between 55 ~ 63C. The penetration grade bitumen has a thermoplastic property which is like as synthetic resin material which gets softer with heating and hardens when cooled. This grade has very strong viscosity compared to other grades.
The Capability of Oxidized Bitumen 20/30
Application of Bitumen 20/30
A hard penetration Bitumen grade bitumen known as Penetration Bitumen 20/30, sometimes known as paving grade bitumen, is what this product is called. It has extraordinary properties that make it a great material for constructing roads and maintaining existing ones. In addition to this, it is included into the production of asphalt pavements that are designed to fulfill certain technical criteria. The bulk of this grade of bitumen is put to use in the manufacturing of hot mix asphalt, which is used for both base courses and wearing courses.
Bitumen 20/30 Advantages and Disadantges
Advantages:
- One of its primary benefits is its exceptional durability and resistance to deformation. The low penetration value of 20-30 dmm at 25°C indicates a high level of hardness, which translates to improved resistance against rutting and permanent deformation under heavy traffic loads.
- Another significant advantage of Bitumen 20/30 is its superior temperature stability. This grade of bitumen maintains its properties across a wide range of temperatures, making it ideal for use in regions with extreme climatic conditions.
- Bitumen 20/30 also exhibits excellent fatigue resistance, which is crucial for pavements subjected to repeated loading cycles. Its high stiffness helps distribute loads more effectively, reducing the stress on underlying layers and minimizing the accumulation of permanent deformation over time. This property is particularly beneficial for highways, airports, and industrial areas where the pavement is subjected to continuous and heavy traffic loads.
Disadvantages:
- One of the primary disadvantages is its higher initial cost compared to softer grades of bitumen. The specialized production process and the higher quality of Bitumen 20/30 contribute to its increased price point.
- The high stiffness that provides excellent durability also makes it more challenging to handle and place during construction. It requires higher mixing and compaction temperatures, which can lead to increased energy consumption and potentially higher emissions during the construction process.
Packing of Bitumen 20/30
Paving Bitumen is commonly packed in new steel drums, 150, 180 & 220 Kg barrels, and Jumbo Bags or Flexi
tanks. Likewise, the rest of the grades are ready to load Ex-work bulk Bitumen by truck. We explained with detail for each packing in Below:
